What do we look for in applicants?

Overview

Are you a high school student above the age of 14, passionate about making a positive impact on your community, and possessing leadership skills that set you apart? If so,  Project Engage NJ is eagerly searching for volunteers like you to join their mission of shaping the future and empowering young minds!

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking high school volunteers who possess a unique blend of qualities that make them stand out as exceptional mentors and tutors. If you fit the following criteria, we would love to hear from you:

  1. Teaching Ability: Effective communication and adaptability to individual learning styles.

2. Extensive Knowledge: Academic expertise in selected subjects.

3. Kindness and Empathy: Demonstrating genuine care and support for students.

4. Leadership Skills: Inspiring, motivating, and leading by example.

5. Commitment and Dedication: Demonstrating hard work and diligent ethic.

Step 1:

Fill out this google form:

Our team will contact you as soon as possible! It is important to keep in mind that we only contact individuals once we begin a two-month session. Therefore, if we don't contact you right away, we've probably already started a session and we will contact you once we begin a new session. 

Step 2:

Once we contact you we expect you to join the google classroom via the button below. It will guide you through the steps of providing us a summary of your class and restating what grade level and how many participants you want for your sessions. We will handle the registration and advertising of your class.

Step 3:

Please find the instructor guide on the Google Classroom, which contains all the essential information on creating comprehensive lesson plans and setting up Google Meet for your teaching sessions.
