Creative WritingK-2: In this class, we will be going over the elements within a piece of creative writing, and how those elements can be utilized to help one create their own narrative. We will explore different types of narratives (poetry, short stories, etc.) and focus on finding inspiration to create their own. We will also play games to help students think on the spot, and we’ll work together to help improve one another’s writing. Students will gain strong literary analysis skills, unlock creativity, and learn or strengthen narrative writing.
3-5: Learn how to effectively argue a point, the differences between opinion and fact, to ultimately persuade through writing. Students will examine a variety of different opinion pieces and essays and learn the nitty-gritty of each part of an essay. They will get to ask questions, explore on their own and finally, write a collaborative class essay pulling together everything that they have learned. This class will be full of discussions and students will get to suggest and express their opinions on a variety of subjects. |
